Planned activities


Come learn about pyrography with Cynthia Carden-Gibson.  Cynthia discovered pyrography onboard the Norwegian Woodturning Cruise in 2008 and, with study, has developed her own unique style of Pyroengraving. 

She is in high demand as a teacher and her pyroengraving techniques are taught to students  from around the world. Her collaborative work has been published injournals nationally and internationally. Visit Cynthia’swebsite 

Materials and supplies will be supplied as well as woodburning equipment.

The city of Albany, Oregon runs scheduled shuttle busses from the Expo Center to downtown Albany.

Tours of historic Albany are also available. 

The schedule, as we have it right now, is as follows:


10:30-12 Historic tour of Albany

12-1: Lunch at the Expo Center

1:30-3: Ann Bose, egg painting at the Expo Center

3:30-6: Cynthia Gibson pyrography, at the Expo Center 


8-10: Ann Bose, garden rock and paver painting at the Expo Center

10-12: Bolts & Blocks: quilting, bag lunch provided

1-3: Spirit Beads: beading

Also on Saturday, 18 March, a trip to the Oregon Garden in Silverton, Oregon has been arranged by Tuck Tours with a stop for lunch at Konditorei in Salem.  The tour departs from the Expo Center at noon and returns about 5:30 PM.  The tour is limited to 12 people.  There is an additional fee for the tour.  Get the details here.
